Dr. Anwar Sadeed

Miani is a remote village of Sargodha district situated on the right bank of river Jhelum and near Bhera. In ancient times, this town was the salt market of Khewra mine. On December 2, 1948, Anwar Sadeed was born in this town. His real name is Muhammad Anwar-ud-din, while in the literary world he became known by his pen name Anwar Sadid. Dr. Anwar Sadeed tells about his date of birth:
"The exact date and time of when my life's journey began is difficult to tell now. My date of birth in the school certificate is 4th December 1928, but my parents told me that I was born during the great flood of Jhelum river. In this sense, my birth falls around the middle of July 1947."
Anwar Sadeed passed in 5th and 6th grade from Government High School Sargodha and passed the middle examination from Government High School Dera Ghazi Khan with first rank. One of the teachers of this school was Maulvi Pir Baksh, he used to train the youth with passion and diligence. It was he who made him in-charge of Class Library, due to which Premchand, Deputy Nazir Ahmed, Asad Ratan, Abdul Halim Sharar, Khawaja Hasan Nizami, and many others remained under his study during this period.
He passed the matriculation examination from Government High School Sargodha with first rank. Since inclination was towards literature and wanted to do MA in literature, but Mian Merajuddin (elder brother ) who was working in the irrigation department, also made him an engineer in Islamia College Railway Road for F.Sc. During this period, Qasim Rizvi from this college was struggling for Tehreek Pakistan . His family was Ahrari, but his education at Islamia College made him a part of
Muslim League. Practically participated in the Muslim League movement in the 1946 elections. Therefore, their education sector became somewhat weak. Then one in the third division. Instead of doing this, he did not clear and started preparing for the competitive examination for admission to Engineering school Rasool.Passed the engineering exam in 1948 with first rank and got talai tumgha. But he took a job as a sub-engineer, but he remain stich to literature.
He settled all academic fields on his personal abilities. Obtained the degree of AMIE from the Institute of Engineers, Dhaka. Then, when Hameed Ahmed Khan the Vice Chancellor of Punjab University, he allowed students to do MA privately. He Passed M.A. Urdu exam part 1 with first rank and also got two gold medals. Importantly, in this exam , the record among foreign students was set by Anwar Sadid. Then the love of Dr. Wazir Agha had inclined him towards literature. Along with his M.A. degree, he also received Father of Urdu Award along with two gold medals.Then he obtained the degree of .
He Wrote many poems. "اردو ادب کی تحریکیں " is his very famous book. Apart from criticism, Anwar Sadid also wrote poetry, wrote fiction and also work as co-editor. After going to Lahore, he got associated with "نوائے وقت ". He also writes literary columns and reviews on books. He also contributed to Iqbaliyat including "اقبال شناسی اور اوراق " and "اقبال شناسی اور ادبی دنیا", while one of his books "اقبال کے کلاسیکی نقوش " leave a deep impression on the minds."
بدلتا آج کے انساں کا دھارا میں نے دیکھا ہے
جو ابریشم تھا ، اس کو سنگ خارا میں نے دیکھا ہے
خدا جانے یہ باہر آ کے کس کس کو لیٹے گا
جو اٹھتا اپنے اندر سے شرارہ میں نے دیکھا ہے
ذرا سا آگے جا کے پھر گلی میں لوٹ آیا ہوں
کھلی کھڑکی سے لہراتا اشارہ میں نے دیکھا ہے
تخیل کا کرشمہ ہے یا منظر سازی دل ہے
جو اپنی بند آنکھوں سے نظارہ میں نے دیکھا ہے
یقیں سا آرہا ہے روشنی اب پھیل جائے گی
فلک کی گود سے گرتا ستارا میں نے دیکھا ہے
میں کوشس کر رہا تھا جس کو انور بھول جانے کی
وہی تو خواب ہے جس کو دوبارا میں نے دیکھا ہے
