Who is not familiar with Shakir Kundan, who is known as poet, rightist, critic, teacher, travelogue, fiction writer, editor, biographer, short story writer, who has the status of a schoolboy in his own right. It will not be out of place if they are considered a literary institution. They are a complete literature and institute and a complete organization. An institute working on religion, literature, society and social issues. I think him as an encyclopedia of Urdu literature. Writers and poets like Shakar Kund are considered as precious to any society.
His real name is Atta Rasool. Shakir started his literary journey with the academic name of Kundan. His father's name is Haji Muhammad Hussain and grandfather's name is Syed Rasool. He belongs to Awan nation. He was born on June 20, 1951 in village Kundan Kalan and is resides in 132- P Istiklalabad, Sargodha now a days. He passed the matriculation examination from the Punjab Board in 1967, later obtained FA from Armed Services Board in 1979 and BA from Balochistan University in 1993. In 1997, he passed the MA exam from Punjab University. During his studies, he took a job in Cadmium Factory Lahore in 1970. He was also a member of the Survey of Pakistan from 1970 to 1971. Shakir Kundan joined the Army as a soldier in 1971. He was commissioned in the Army in 1989 and retired in 2001.
After retirement, did MA in Urdu and MPhil and took up teaching
His research work about writter from armed forces has been appreciated across the country. With regard to Naat, he has obtained a PhD degree by doing research work full of golden memories.
Due to his love for literature, he was also associated with many literary organizations. He is a member of Bazm Shuaa Adab Lahore, Member Talent Club Lahore, Member Punjabi Adabi Vehri Khushab, President Harf Akademi Rawalpindi, Member Punjab Writers Guild Lahore ,Member Qalam Qafila Kharian, Chairman Institute of Promotion of Literature Pakistan and Senior Vice President of Sargodha Writers Club.
