 Radio remains one of the most accessible and powerful tools for raising the educational and literary level of a city. Because it requires no internet or literacy to start listening, it reaches students, working people, and families in every neighborhood. Educational programs, language lessqons, science segments, career guidance, and daily news analysis on radio help spread knowledge in a simple, conversational way that keeps listeners engaged.

The role of local radio stations is especially important. Unlike national networks, local stations speak the city’s language, dialect, and concerns. They can host authors from the city, review books from local libraries, announce school competitions, poetry mushairas, and reading clubs, and invite teachers and students for live discussions. By featuring local stories, folk literature, and city events, local radio not only promotes reading and learning but also builds pride in the city’s culture and identity. In 2005, the foundation stone of Radio Pakistan Sargodha FM 93 was laid. This was the first radio station here. This radio FA 93 greatly improved the academic and literary level of Sargodha and started many academic and literary programs. Then, soon after, FM 96 and MA 98.2 of the University of Sargodha were also established, so the communication problem in Sargodha was solved to a greater extinct.

With the establishment of Radio Pakistan in Sargodha, more opportunities were available for the promotion of literature. Khalid Iqbal, Senior Producer, did a lot of work for the promotion of literature here. This is why the fortnightly program “Adab Nama” of Radio Pakistan Sargodha was an important step in introducing the poets here. Its first host was Shakir Kundan. Later, the host of Adab Nama was “Professor Tariq Habib”. A series of comments on new books was also started in Adab Nama. These comments were made by Zulfiqar Ahsan. Then, on his request, a separate program of comments was started called “Hasil Mutala”. Zulfiqar Ahsan was the host, compiler and commentator of it. The host of the fortnightly Punjabi program Punjabi Adabi Betak, Naseem Iqbal Bhatti, is also did a lot of work regarding Punjabi literature. Reports of various poetry recitals are being recorded and broadcast by "Shakir Nizami, Special Correspondent of Radio Pakistan". Thus, Radio Pakistan Sargodha is proving to be helpful in the promotion of literature. FM 96 has also started a series of literary programs which are proving to be helpful in delivering good and quality literature to the discerning audience. The series of interviews and poetry recitals have highlighted the overall impression of FM 96. The presence of "Inam Khan" and "Huma Tahir" has made FM 96 more active. The echo of the literary program of 98.2 FM of the University of Sargodha is being heard all over the country.
