Sargodha is a very fertile region  in terms of literature.  The writers here have demonstrated their God  given  talents  not only  in  Pakistan but also outside Pakistan. It is very rare  for  a  personv to  be  equally   popular  in different genres, be he a poet, writer, critic, columnist, play-writter,  educator,  confessor  and compiler and raise the banner of his success in every field.              Dr. Haroon-Ur- Rasheed   Tabassum is a renowned research- er,  critic,  poet,   columnist,   radio    broadcaster, compiler and educator of our country. His literary services need no introduction. 

Dr.  Haroon-Ur-Rasheed   Tabassum   was born on October 2, 1955 in Sargodha. His father Muhammad Ayub Mughal belonged to a middle class. He passed matriculation from Government High School No.1 sargodha.

   

He did his F.A from Sargodha Board in 1973, B.A from Punjab University in 1975, M.A in Political Science from 1977, M.A in Islamic Studies in 1978, M.A in History in 1979 and MA in Urdu in 1780 from Punjab University, Lahore as a private candidate.He passed M.Phil in Iqbaliyat in 1993  from Allama Iqbal Open University and  received his Ph.D in 2002 from Punjab University.

He has so far published   more   than   a  hundred  books   on   various   literary  topics  and has gained general recognition. In  addition,  his  articles on  literary and social topics have been pub-      lished    in    various   journals   and   newspapers  on a daily basis. In the literary world, you are only in writing consistently He has received numerous awards and prizes at the national and regional levels. Many books  have  been  written  on  the personality  and  art of  Dr. Sahib. In addition, M.Phil level research work has  been  done  on  various  aspects of  his  personality,  art  and  poetry  in many universities of Pakistan.He is  highly  regarded  in the academic and   literary   circles   of   Sargodha. More than a  dozen literary  organi- 

 zations   has    his    patronage  and  support.

          Dr. Sahib is playing an active role in the promotion of literary activities in Sargodha. I have the honor of being a student of Dr. Sahib. He is always kind to me. He has a unique style which is simple, sincere, patriotic and eloquent which gives uniqueness to his writings.
