Prof. Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal is a thinker in his own right. His research passion is not focused on a single point. They are all-round personalities. He keep trying to find universe beyound the stars. He did not let the loss of sight hinder his path. So balance, moderation, prudence, strategy and research are the prominent weapons of his life. Be it poetry or prose, the reflection of his self is prominent in it. In the mirror of his thinking, the problems of millions of blind people of Pakistan are circulating. From his student days to writing, he is constantly on the go. Their struggle constantly kisses their feet.
Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal was born on March 15, 1945 at Karnal (India). Your father Mr. Allah Dia was involved in the field of teaching. After the partition of India, this family migrated and settled in Khushab. Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal started his educational life from this city, but it was only in the third grade that he lost his sight. You were picked up from school and sent to the mosque, but you started school again. From 1956 to 1960, he studied in a school for the blind located at Sheeranwala Gate, Lahore. Despite innumerable difficulties, he continued his educational journey with great success,he received scholarships. He entered into practical life with utmost confidence and assurance. His struggle is a light house for people who are suffering from difficulties and sufferings.
Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal is the first blind person in Pakistan to pass the M.A. English exam. Along with this, he also has the honor of being the first blind person to be elected as a lecturer. Professor Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal has done regular teaching services for almost forty years. During this time, he also continued the welfare work of the blind people in a rich manner. He was simultaneously elected District Provincial and Central President for one term of Pakistan Association of the Blind. Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal is a multifaceted personality.
His work in the field of poetry is a source of inspiration for the visually impaired people.He won a gold medal in M.Phil and wrote his PhD thesis on "Impact of British poet on Iqbal ". Two albums based on his ghazals have been released in the voice of famous singers and the Central Production Unit of Radio Pakistan has also recorded his ghazals.
He is the founding editor of the scholarly and literary journal "سفید چھڑی " which has been published continuously for the last seventeen years. From a platform of Bazm e Fikr O Khiyaal , he has been expressing his abilities in the cultivation of knowledge and literature for a long time. A book containing his Iqbal philosophy along with other books was published in 1999" اقبال بحضور اقبال ". He is also respected throughout the city as a member of the Editors' Council.
Professor Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal is blind, but the Lord of the universe has blessed him with countless virtues. He is a teacher of English literature. Apart from Pakistan, his students are known in different regions of the world. He never considered the loss of vision as a constraint or limitation but instead gave the light of vision to countless students. He is aware of the art of poetry. He provide many people an opportunity to share ideas with the platform of Bizm e Fikkar O Khyal.
Professor Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal is also very fond of music, he himself knows how to sing with musical instruments and in addition to this, two albums on his ghazals have also come out in the market. Till this time, eighteen books of Professor Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal have been published. ساحل تشنہ لب " ایک ہمسفر اچھا لگا " "سوالیہ" نشان " , And "یہ کافر دل نہیں مانا" , His Urdu Ghazals and Poems Collections, while "تلاوت دل " is his collection of Hamad and Naat. Apart from this, Dr. Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal's collection of English poetry titled "No Crime Loves" was released.
"John Keats Personality and Poetry" is his critical book.
He has also written his autobiography in the name of "پردہ سمیں سے "
