  Literary organizations in any city play an important role in the promotion of knowledge and literature there. Sargodha Writers Club is an important literary organization of Sargodha.
Through this club, efforts are being made to promote literature along with training and encouraging the young creatives of Sargodha.
Criticism meetings were organized like Halka Arbab Zouk  to create critical insight among writers and poets.

Sargodha Writers Club is most respected literature organization of Sargodha city since 1988.
First, monthly critical programs were organized under the auspices of the Writers' Club. In these meetings, Dr. Wazir Agha, Prof. Ghulam Jilani Asghar, Professor Sahibzada Abdul Rasool, Prof. Sajjad Naqvi, Professor Nasir Abbas Nair, Dr. Salim Agha Qazalbas and many other well-known writers and poets gave special lectures on literary topics. It continued till then later two monthly meetings were held. Initially, these meetings were held at the Press Club. Mushairas were held every 1st and critical meetings were held every fortnight. And this series is still going on with full force without any interruption, a large number of writers and poets are participating in these meetings.

Mumtaz Arif became the first president of the club and Professor Haroon-ul-Rashid Tabassumm as the general secretary activated the club in literary activities. Seeing the literary work of the club, the Commissioner Sargodha "Syed Mujamal Abbas" took a personal interest and provided a room as an office for the Writers' Club in Jinnah Hall Sargodha. Wazir Agha Corner was also established in Ghalib Library. Books of writers and poets who belonged to Sargodha were also kept in this corner. The efforts of Mian MD Shad Advocate, besides other poets, cannot be ignored in building this corner. Mumtaz Arif spent the longest time as the President, along with Dr. Haroon-ul-Rashid Tabassum, Rana Irshad Ali Siddiqui, Safdar Raza  also worked with him as General Secretary. Later, the new president Asif Raz was appointed through the election, while his general secretary was Professor Riaz Ahmed Shad. 

Then the new president became Arshad Malik and Safdar Raza Safi worked as his general secretary, but after two or three months, Zulfiqar Ahsan started working as the General Secretary. After him the new President Prof. Yusuf Khalid was made and Zulfiqar Ahsan was appointed as the General Secretary. Annual report was published and a book Naqosh Sargodha was published. Considering their excellent performance, both of them were allowed to continue as President and General Secretary for one more year. They were followed by new President Riaz Ahmed Shad was appointed and  Shakir Kandan was made his General Secretary.

After this panel, Yusuf Khalid was made the new president.” Zulfiqar Ahsan resigned from the post of General Secretary due to his busy schedule and thus Professor Tariq Habib was made the new General Secretary. In 2006, Prof. Sahibzada Abdul Rasool was appointed as the new president and once again Shakir Kandan was appointed as the General Secretary. They are always busy in making the literary activities of club more active. "Shakar Kandan" introduced Writers Club to all over Pakistan by inviting literary friends from distant cities to the Writers Club. 

Three books have been published under the auspices of the club. The first book was written by   وزیر اغا فن اور شخصیت   in 1994, edited by Mumtaz Arif and Najma Mansoor. This book was published under the auspices of Sargodha Writers Club and Arts Council. The second book was " نقوش سرگودھا " edited by Zulfiqar Ahsan and Abid Khurshid, which included the words of famous writers of Sargodha whose books had not been published so far, and most of them were poets. This book was also published under the auspices of the Arts Council and Sargodha Writers Club. 

The third book was " سر عکس " in which the selected poems and ghazals of the poets from the mushairas organized by the Arts Council and the Writers Club during 2003-2004 were published with poet's addresses. This book was arranged by Shakir Kandan. Two annual reports have been published so far and both these reports were compiled by the then General Secretary Zulfiqar Ahsan. 

Meetings of the Sargodha Writers Club have been held on every 1st and 15th in the cafeteria lawn of the University of Sargodha. In which poets from all over the country and university professors and literature students participate and quench their literary thirst. For some time the Sargodha writer Club's meeting was held at the residence of Dr. Wazir Agha. Today, the meeting is being held at the Sargodha Art Council's Literary Meeting.
In 2010, Syed Murtaza Hassan was made  made the General Secretary Writers Club . He restored the tradition of meeting regularly every month. His efforts are beyound description  in this regard. He was also honored with special literary awards by  "Asalib" Institute and the Kamran Institute for his services to the Writers' Club. Now Usama Muneer  is the general sectary and  Mumraz Arif is the president of writer club.
