The history of Sargodha city is not ancient because the city was founded in 1903 by Lord Bailey, but the history of this district has been very ancient. Because Takht Hazara, Shahpur, Khushab, and Bhera also have such ancient settlements in this district, whose initial conditions have become a part of Arak Par Binah. Sargodha is now a modern city. In 1906 it was given the status of Tehsil, after which in 1914 it was classified as a district instead of Shahpur, while its name remained Shahpur. It was a strange thing that instead of Shahpur being given the status of a district, Sargodha was given the status of a district, then the name of Sargodha was written and read as Shahpur. In 1940, Sargodha regained its lost name and was called Sargodha District.

The land of Sargodha is very fertile in terms of literature, but unfortunately this city is still being neglected as a suburb. Except for a few talented poets, the majority of the poets here do not get the status and recognition they deserve at the national level.
We are not in favor of groupings and biased behavior in literature, nor do we speak of any school of thought, so we will definitely say that if we compare the writers here with those of Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The poets and writers of Sargodha will not be less in any respect. The only difference is that the writers of the big cities have close contact with the mass media, rather they have a monopoly on radio, TV and newspapers and magazines. Due to which some of the short stature and dwarfish features of the big cities also appear tall and some such writers are seen as very prominent whose existence may not be visible even under a microscope. There is no doubt that Lahore is always known. It has been the cradle of literature and the center of culture. This is probably the reason why some small poets of Lahore are more appreciated than the big writers of small cities. It is also worth mentioning that the writers and intellectuals of big cities Some of them are recognized and known at national and international level and belong to Sargodhahi district.
